Day 99 – Breakfast

P8010028This morning, i got up at a decent time.  On the recommendation of a friend, I picked up some Kashi cereal at the grocery over the weekend.  I decided to give it a try for breakfast this morning.  Overall, I’m not overly impressed with the flavor.   I wasn’t sure if it was pre-sweetened, so all I added was a banana.  This proved to be a mistake, and was very lacking in flavor overall.  Next time, I’ll be sure to add some sweetener to it as well, and that should make it a pretty tasty breakfast overall.

Kashi Lean is awesome! It’s a perfect start to a healthy day. No, it is not pre-sweetened. It only has 6 grams of sugar. In 1 cup of Kashi GoLean Cereal, it has 140 calories, 1 gram of fat, 85 mg sodium, 10 grams of fiber, and 13 grams of protein.

If you’re used to sweet cereal, it might take a while to adjust to the taste of unsweetened cereal. But, combined with skim milk and a multi-vitamin, Kashi Lean is one of the healthiest options for breakfast. Add a piece of fruit to it, and it’s just about ideal.

Kudos for you for trying it. If you want sweeter, you can always add some nutrisweet (or whatever artificial sweetener you use). Or you could add some raisins or dates to it to sweeten it up.
