Fat Guy on a Diet

Week 13 – Weigh In

Facebook Twitter Digg Reddit Tumblr Email

I’m not sure what to make of this past week.  I know for sure, I was a bit more leanient on the diet than I have been in the past.  I had quite a few meals where I wouldn’t have gone so overboard, and there was also a few days where I was well over my 1800 calorie a day average… today, that showed.  I’m back up to 292.4 lbs.. an increase since last week of .6lbs.  I know, it’s not much, and I should expect some fluctuation in my weight from week to week.  I’m really not sure how it happened though… only that I’ve got to work harder to prevent it from happening again.  This weekend is going to be tough though… Saturday is going to be my “Free Day”, as I will be attending the Chili Cook-Off in Westport.  Sunday, I’m looking to go to the “Taste of St. Louis” downtown, so I’m probably going to have several things there as well.

Last week, I also saw the first real push into the fitness arena… though I really need to ramp that up even more.  Over the weekend, I got ahold of The Biggest Loser workouts, and I’m going to try to get those done in the morning before work.  Each one is only about 35 minutes, so it should give me a good start.  Since I’m already doing cardio at the gym, I might start working with the body sculpting videos for now.  That should give me a great start in working towards my overall weight training goals. I just need to make sure to wake up early enough to be able to finish the workout and still make it to work on time.

Overall, I think I did pretty good this past week.  I just wish I had the drop to prove it.  I’m going to review some of the things I ate and see where I might be able to improved and get under 290 for next week!

Sorry to hear that you didn’t make the progress in weight loss for the week that you had hoped for. Did you get to do any exercising over the weekend that you didn’t post about?

Congrats for taking your first steps regarding exercising. It looks like you did 30 minutes of walking 2 or 3 times last week.

I looked online, and the Biggest Loser workout dvds look good. If you sleep late and don’t have time to do them in the morning, make sure to get it in after work. If you ramp up your exercise to 30/35 minutes a day 4-5 times a week, you should definitely see the results show.

Also, while you watch the Biggest Loser 2 hour show, you can always do push-ups/sit-ups/jumping jacks/etc during the commercials.

Regarding diet, it would probably help if you avoid fried food as much as possible. Other than that, your calorie target seems good. Stay motivated, and enjoy exercising!
