Day 33 – Dinner
This evening, my friends and I decided to make a run for Chili’s for dinner. Being that this was “Free Day”, I wanted to do something different that I hadn’t had for quite some time. My first thought was to have some Chicken Crispers! They had always been one of my favorite items from Chili’s, and it’s usually something I get most time I went there before the diet. I did a quick lookup on my phone and my eyes just about popped from their sockets… over 1800 calories and 130 grams of fat!!! No way was I putting that garbage into my body. I decided to check my next favorite: the Country Fried Steak. It was even WORSE! Still I wanted to do something different, so I went with the 12oz Cajun Ribeye.
My friend had ordered some of the Queso for an appetizer. I decided to have just a bit to taste, but for the most part, I left it alone. I dipped 10 chips in… each time, shaking off as much of the excess as I could. The entire thing of chips and queso comes to about 1000 calories. I barely touched the surface of it, but wasn’t sure about the total calories. I questioned my friends for their opinions, and both came up with about 75-100 calories. I still like to err on the side of caution, so I’m going with 150 for the total. Soon after, the Ribeye arrived. I tore through the veggies first in order to fill up quickly. Finally it was time for the ribeye. The flavors I experienced cannot be put into words. This was by far, the single best steak I’ve had in a long time. That’s including the steaks I’ve gotten from Longhorn!! The flavor was made up of the perfect amounts of just the right seasoning. It was slightly spicy, but not what I would actually consider to be “Spicy”. The meat itself was tender and juicy. Overall, the meal was absolutely amazing, and worth every calorie spent!!
