No more than 10 minutes or so after finishing dinner, I received a call from a friend of mine asking what I was doing. He informed me that he had time to get away from the house and wanted to know if I wanted to pick up some grubs. Even though I’d just eaten, I agreed. We decided to go for Chili’s. One thing I like about Chilis is that all of their options are very low in calories. Even though I’d eaten a light dinner already, this wasn’t going to put me way over for the day. I ended up getting the Chicken Sandwich for 480 calories. It was good, but not as good as the one I had previously. Not a bad meal, and it was good spending time out with friends.

I needed a break and also needed something as a “treat”. I hadn’t had tuna in some time, so I decided to have a tuna salad sandwich. I took a packet of tuna, added a tablespoon of sugar free relish, 2 tbsp Creole Mustard, and 1tbsp of mayo. I mixed it up very well then put it onto Healthy Life Whole Grain Bread.. On the side, I had one of the microwavable mini cakes (forgot right now who makes them) for just 150 calories. It was pretty good.

Still plugging away with my weekend work project. Concentration has only been made more difficult worrying about where the storm is headed. Part of me wishes I should have gone down to New Orleans, while other parts is glad I stayed in. The issues I’m going through with work have been exhausting and nerve racking. I didn’t feel like eating anything this morning, so I ate light.. Cheerios and Milk.

After working all night and day, I needed to make an escape. A good friend of mine was in the area and I wanted to meet up with her for a bit to catch up. We wandered around the mall for a few hours (lots of exercise there), and finally decided to stop at the food court for dinner. I knew some of the dishes were going to be horrible for me, but the beef and brocolli seemed to be a less unhealthy alternative. Overall, the beef and brocolli portion was pretty good, though I did find the beef part tough overall. The fried rice left a lot to be desired, and I ended up only having about 1/2 of it in total. Overall, not a bad meal though.

I was extremely busy working, and wasn’t very hungry for lunch today so I opted for something quick and simple. I decided to have some Lean Pocket Chicken Quesadillas. It was definitely quick and simple, though I’m still not completely sold on the taste.

I woke up about 8AM this morning and pulled out my laptop. I wanted to see what the forecast was, and it looks like Gustav isn’t budging. He’s still aimed to land around the Morgan City area, which is still way too close for me to risk making the trip. As of now, I’m just not going to go. If my parents evacuate, however, I might go meet them wherever they end up.
I didn’t want to do anything too crazy for breakfast, and I had some english muffins that were only going to be good for a few more days. I decided to make a slight change to my PB and Banana open faced sandwiches. Overall, they were pretty good, and it felt like I was having more than I usually do! Well, actually, I was, and the calorie count was higher, but overall, besides bread, it was the same amount of ingredients.

This evening, I needed to continue to catch up. I’m going to be out for most of next week, and between the fires at work today and just getting everything off my plate, I needed to work late this evening. I had about a half hour of downtime while some files were transferred, so I ran out and grabbed myself some dinner. I decided to get Noodles and Company. I didn’t want to get the Japanese Pan Noodles again since I had them earlier in the week, so I opted for the House Marinara instead. I also went for the Parmesean Crusted Chicken as well, so this was almost a new dish for me. Overall, it was great. It was about the closest I’ve gotten for comfort food lately, and it’s looking more and more like I’m not going to be going home. We’ll see in the morning what Gustav decides to do.

Today has been a pretty crazy day at the office. I’m hoping to drive down to New Orleans this evening, but it doesn’t look like work or the weather is going to allow that. Most likely, I’m going to delay and leave tomorrow morning. I was supposed to go to Helen Fitzgeralds and have a “final lunch” with a friend of mine that works down the street. He’s switching jobs and will now be working about 45 minutes away. However, things at the office kept me from leaving for any significant time. I opted instead to get what I’ve been wanting for a while… a chicken salad sandwich from Bread Company. Overall, it was very good, and I did enjoy the whole grain baguette. Not a bad lunch, overall, though I still wish I could have gotten out for a bit.

I’m still not sure if I’m going to be going to New Orleans or not. Last night, I checked the maps before going to bed, and it had the projection pretty much going straight for Lake Charles, LA. Now, it looks like it’s going towards Morgan City, and then riding the coast until it lands the Lake Charles area. Nonetheless, I packed just in case I decided to leave immediately after work. This took me right up until it was time for me to leave this morning, so I grabbed a bowl of oatmeal on the way out. I meant to grab a diet tea as well, but it slipping my mind. Instead, I went with a Diet Dr. Pepper. The oatmeal is awesome! It makes a really good breakfast when I’m on the run. It’ll be much better once it starts getting colder outside.
