Day 8 – Breakfast and Lunch
If anyone didn’t already know, today is my birthday. *Happy Birthday to me… Happy Birthday to me….* I planned on taking today as a 2nd freeday, but stuck with it so far. For breakfast, I had yogurt and a iced tea.
Breakfast:
- Yoplait Light Yogurt – 110 calories
- Iced Tea – 0 calories
- GRAND TOTAL: 110 calories
Lunch, was a bit more problematic. I went to lunch with a friend and we decided on Ruby Tuesdays. I picked that, remembering that there used to be a “Diet” menu that they provided. When arriving though, I was suprised to find that no such diet menu was still in existance. I then poured over the menu, looking for the healthiest items I could find. I finally settled on the “Creole Catch”. Broiled talapia with brocolli and rice pilaf. I switched out the rice for the more healthy alternative, mashed cauliflower! Yum! Overall, lunch was very tasty, though I still wasn’t sure of the overall calorie cost. When I got home, I looked it up. I was a bit confused by the Ruby Tuesday’s nutritional information, and whether or not it included the side items. I’m assuming at this point that they do not, so my healthy tilapia has made a huge jump in the overal number of calories. Here’s the breakdown. Also, sorry for the blurry photo, I didn’t realize it at the time, and didn’t follow my rule of taking two.
Lunch:
- Creole Catch – Tilapia – 312 calories
- Fresh Steamed Broccoli – 103 calories
- Creamy Mashed Cauliflower – 153 calories
- Iced Tea – 0 calories
- GRAND TOTAL: 568 calories
That leaves me with a grand total so far for 678 calories… about 1/2 of my total for today. We’ll see what happens for dinner.
